Hi. I’m coming into my third year with Spice Fitness. The reason that I came was for back rehabilitation.
I had back surgery about seven years ago and I needed to do something to get my core a lot stronger and just to build myself up to be stronger in every possible way to prevent having to have more back surgery.
So, before I came to Spice Fitness, I was very limited in quite a few normal everyday things that you would do and not think twice about. So vacuuming, and things like scrubbing the shower, washing the car, were all things that were extremely difficult and gave me a lot of pain afterwards, so I really needed to build my strength.
In the past I have walked a lot prior to that, but I needed to – after the back surgery – I need to have, get that functional strength back, so that’s the thing that I’ve really focused on.
In becoming stronger... I’m stronger in my upper body, in my legs, in my core and I’ve got really good ability with my balance. I’ve actually been in a study with the Menzies centre and my balance is actually extremely good for my age and so that has really helped me.
So, I would highly recommend Sheree. She was recommended to me by a personal friend because of the injuries that I had. I asked a lot of questions to make sure she was fully qualified.
I moved into this area and thought that I’d give her a shot and look, she really cares. She tailors a program to my needs. Initially I just did personal training one-on-one. I had a bit of a setback about four months ago whereby it was looking like I was going to have to have more back surgery, so we took it really slowly in building my strength up again and now I’m feeling great.
I’m not in pain and I’m starting to get stronger again. And Sheree really tailors a program to that. She knows what I can and can’t do and I speak very highly of her. And I put a lot of my success into being where I am now to her ability in helping me and giving me the right exercises to give me that strength.
So, as I said I really would recommend Spice Fitness for anybody, in any age group, and it’s a great bunch of women too that you work out with.
When I was just having personal training sessions, I really missed that contact with the other women. Everybody supports each other.
Other people have issues. We all work together. And that’s the thing that I really like about it.
