Sheree: Hi it's Sheree from Spice Fitness here and today we're speaking to Val. Val, can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Val: Sheree, I've been doing Zumba with you for four years, and the anniversary of that is in two weeks' time.

"The strength exercise workouts for women and fitness program along with the wellbeing have been so positive for me."

Sheree: Wow! Four whole years, that's incredible. Not too many people stay with people for four years.

Val: I know. And I was 60 when I started doing Group Fitness Classes. And I said to my husband this morning, "I was 60 when I started, but now I'm 45."

Sheree: Woo-hoo! A good way to be. So, what sort of benefits have you found over those four years?

Val: Look, all the things you read about. The physical fitness. All my health indicators have just improved in a way I couldn't have believed. But I think we actually make cliches about wellbeing, and for me that's been the benefit. The strength exercise workouts for women and fitness program along with the wellbbeing have been so positive for me, because when I started off I had a few very demanding moves in life. It's been tight. Since I've been doing Zumba I've just done so much. I can even credit you, Sheree, for my being halfway through my PhD.

Sheree: Woo-hoo!

Val: Because without that kind of strength exercise workouts for women and fitness program, I wouldn't have been able to do it, so I feel fantastic.

Sheree: Great. And you've obviously met... you talk to quite a few women when you're coming to Spice as well. Obviously met quite a few people along the way?

Val: Yeah, that's what I love is the friendship all around, but I'm really interested in how the group comes together. And as a woman's gym there are so many stories here that I wish could grow that community who'd understand. There are so many people who have overcoming amazing issues, health issues, depression is a big deal.

Sheree: So true. I did hear one lady this morning after the class say, "Thank you, Sheree. I can now go home and deal with life. I was in no good headspace this morning, but after that class I feel awesome." Well Val, I hope you're with us for the next ten years, and I expect to see you as a 70 year old going strong! Awesome. Thank you so much.

Val: Terrific.
