Incorporating fresh juice can be a fun and different approach to increasing consumption of fruits and vegetables for improved health and wellness and reaching your weight loss goals.

There are many health benefits of juicing, here are just three.

  1. Juicing helps you absorb all the nutrients from vegetables. Due to bad food choices over many years, most of us have impaired digestion which limits your body's ability to absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables.

    Juicing "pre-digests" them for you, so you will receive most of the nutrition, rather than having it go down the toilet.
  2. Juicing extracts the juice from fresh fruits and vegetables. The resulting liquid contains most of the vitamins, minerals and plant chemicals found in the whole fruit.

    Healthy diets rich in fruits and vegetables help reduce the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases.

    Fruits and vegetables also provide essential vitamins and minerals, fibre and other substances that are important for good health. Most fruits and vegetables are naturally low in fat and calories and are filling.
  3. Juicing makes it easier to eat your daily recommended intake of fruits and vegetables. Some people may find eating that many vegetables difficult, but it can be easily accomplished with a quick glass of vegetable juice. You can add a wider variety of vegetables in your diet.

    Many people eat the same vegetable salads every day. This violates the principle of regular food rotation and increases your chance of developing an allergy to a certain food.

    But with juicing, you can juice a wide variety of vegetables that you may not normally enjoy eating whole.

Try these different fruit and vegetable juice options. All you need is a high-speed blender!

Orange Zinger

  • 2 oranges, peeled
  • 1/2 carrot, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 green apple, roughly chopped
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • A pinch of salt

Popeye Punch

  • 1 cup spinach, chopped
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • A pinch of salt

Summer Cooler

  • 1 cup cucumber, chopped
  • 1/2 cup tomato, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • A pinch of salt

Fat Burner

  • 1/2 cup carrot, chopped
  • 1/2 cup apple, chopped
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • A pinch of salt

Stress Reliever

  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 3-4 strawberries
  • 1/2 peach, chopped
  • 1/2 apple, chopped
  • A pinch of black pepper

Energy Booster

  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 4 leaves kale
  • 2 apples, chopped
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger, peeled
  • A pinch of salt
